BE A LIFEGUARD
SPRING INSTITUTE 2010 BROCHURE

PREREQUISITES FOR ELIGIBILITY:
- MINIMUM AGE OF 15 ( BIRTH CERTIFICATE OR COPY OF LICENSE REQUIRED)
- (THIS IS NOT A LEARN TO SWIM CLASS.THIS COURSE IS TAUGHT IN DEEP WATER-Fundamental
Swimming ability is required)
- SWIMMING PRE TEST INCLUDES -300-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke. Participants must also be able to swim 20 yards, recover a 10-pound brick from a 7-foot depth and return to the pool deck in 100 seconds
- PROPER BATHING SUITS ARE REQUIRED-A one piece bathing suit for girls with hair pulled back and swimming trunks for boys. All jewelry and valuables are to be left home. Neither the Red Cross nor our host facilities are responsible for lost or stolen articles. All participants must have a towel.
- Any individuals who require special needs or attention MUST be addressed prior to the pre qualifying day.
REFUND/CANCELLATION POLICY
Any participant who cannot pass the prequalifying portion will receive a $200.00 refund (The Red Cross will
retain $50.00) If you are unable to attend a session (a session is the entire length of the course), please
notify the Red Cross 5 days prior to your scheduled session to request a refund or a transfer of funds to a new
class if space is available. All funds are NON-REFUNDABLE if you fail to notify the Camden County Red Cross
of your absence in that time. For your safety, please consult with a physician before enrolling in a class if you
have any health issues. You must be on time and attend all class sessions to receive a certification card.
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO RESCHEDULING OF A SESSION. THIS IS STRICTLY ENFORCED.
LIFEGUARD TRAINING INSTRUCTOR $300.00
This course is designed for those who wish to train and certify others in Lifeguard Training and CPR for the Professional Rescuer
Prerequisites:
- Minimum age of 17 years.
- Must hold valid and current Lifeguard Training, First Aid basics and Professional CPR/AED cards.
- Written and skills test administered on Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid basics materials.
- Preparation for this session requires knowledge and ability to demonstrate all Lifeguarding, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid skills
- Pass a written precourse exam based on this material. Candidates must meet all of these requirements to continue in the course.

Directions: From Atlantic City-Atlantic City Expressway to Route 73 North.
Follow Route 73 North around the Berlin circle and continue on Route 73 to the jughandle to
Evesham Road. Travel down Evesham Road to the light at Kresson Road. Make a right and continue
down Kresson Road through one light. The JCC is approximately 1⁄2 mile down on your right hand side.
